Ah, you nailed me, Ali! I intended it as jujitsu, praising nuclear while exposing its problems. As to my sincere belief, it is also there in the article: I don't advocate for nuclear energy, but I won't oppose it either. If some wrong-headed people truly believe it is helpful, let them go for it. I can interpret your thought that it "will only delay the recovery of life on earth" in two ways. One, that the energy provided by nuclear power plants may give our unsustainable technological civilization a bit more runway before it ultimately collapses, in which case we shouldn't build ANY renewable energy and just work towards collapsing it sooner. Or, when it collapses, those nuclear power plants are going to be a big liability, blighting the area around them and probably releasing a lot of radioactivity into the atmosphere and water. I think the current state of the Chernobyl area, referenced by Dale Volek below (or above?), is evidence that the post-collapse risks of those power plants may not be so bad, except for humans.
