As usual, we are solving yesterday's problem instead of tomorrow's. Range anxiety was only an issue because of the limited range of first-gen EVs, 100 miles or less. Today's EVs have a 200 mile range and 300 miles will be standard in a few years. That's about the same as a tank of gasoline--and you start each day with a full "tank" in your EV if you can charge at home. If you can't charge at home, like perhaps for apartment dwellers, you charge at workif you go into an office or factory. If you live in a city, you Uber...and soon in self-driving Ubers (more likely, Teslas). The need for public charging stations is only along long-distance routes like cross-country freeways. Already we find a lot of public charging stations in desrepair, because they are just not being used much.
