Excellent points, Atilla. I think the value of the doom-and-gloom books is in their saying, "Hey, that thing you thought was a solution, it isn't going to work. Try again." Just like the first paragraph of your comment above. In point of fact, effective solutions to global warming and most of our other problems are well known. This crisis is that we do not have (1) the political will, nor (2) the time to implement them.
