Funny you should say that, Detrick. Just in the last few days I’ve been thinking how much Mitch McConnell is Francis Underwood (aka F.U.) But as to the show HOC, which I enjoyed, I think it’s own success was a problem, because American TV will never end a series that is making money for the network. The original British version had it right, three seasons and out. I just learned from Wikipedia that Michael Dobbs wrote the book House of Cards stand-alone, and that’s the first series. Then he wrote two more books which became the other two seasons, which required re-writing the ending of the first book, where, “[i]n the final confrontation scene Urquhart throws himself from the roof terrace and Mattie survives.” Hmph, learn something new every day, huh?
