Good for Doug. Great, in fact. But we might not all be talented, smart, and privileged enough to "beat the odds." In fact, that Doug's story is unique and inspiring indicates just how rare such outcomes are. If someone should choose a different path to follow, somewhere else to put their energy, then that's okay too.
