How about trigger warnings about flashing lights for epileptics? Is it worth a trigger warning to help somebody avoid a seizure? I think so. From there it is a small step to see how unexpectedly encountering a rape scene in a show can trigger a rape victim, and so on. I would be with you on this one if the issue were that shows are not being allowed to have triggering content. But it seems perfectly reasonable to let folks know ahead of time that the program includes content that might be triggering, so we can make an informed decision on whether we want to watch it or not. I'm sorry if trigger warnings themselves trigger you, but they can save a lot of people serious grief.
