I also read that the Kamikaze pilots where high out of their minds on speed/amphetamines. As were the German troops and Hitler himself. I haven't heard that of Allied troops, but it wouldn't surprise me if the little white pills were easily available to them as well. I assuming pill form because it would be the easiest to transport and dispense on the battlefield.
