I hope they make it, but I'm so weary of incredible-new-battery-tech announcements that never make it to market. I mean, I'm sure some of them will make it to market eventually, but I'll believe it when I see it. Though I do like the concept of the two-tiered battery architecture. Kind of like a computer has RAM for fast access and disk for bulk storage. (Actually today's computers can have may tiers of memory -- several tiers of cache, DRAM, SSD, rotating disk, magnetic tape, ... DNA?) I think some EV makers are looking at super caps for acceleration also.
