I hope you are right. But the problem is tipping points and positive feedback loops. We've already tipped and I believe the temperature is going reach temperatures where most current life on the planet cannot survive. no matter what we do now. Maybe the best we can do it major geoengineering to bring on a new ice age, which would at least be survivable for some life.
