I remember how fresh and subversive the SB TV show was at the time. It was the height of the Vietnam War and the hippie movement, and here were these two clean-cut, wholesome guys portraying innocent folk singers, just slyly turning mainstream conservatism on its head. And Pat Paulson and the rest. Clearly they were cancelled for being too anti-war, anti-Nixon, and controversial. They were a really important part of the 60s. And by the way, off camera, Tommy was said to be the smart one. But wow, could ever play the dummy. He is still alive and owns a winery in Sonoma, California. He was really good with the yo-yo, and would do an act with it calling himself Yo-Yo Man. (Not to be confused with Yo-Yo Ma, the cellist.) Dicky is still alive too.
