I remember the controversy when the show came out in 1965. (It ran until 1971.) How dare they make a comedy about Nazis! Remember, WWII had ended only 20 years before. Imagine if they made a sitcom about 9/11 today???? Oh, those goofy terrorists, hahaha! I was only 10 at the time, with no memory of WWII obviously, so the fact that I picked up on the controversy is really saying something.
