I suppose previous, non-full-AI FSD had it's brain farts as well. We just called them "bugs" or "corner cases" as opposed to "hallucinations." I presume Elon migrated to full-AI because it has fewer of these types of problems and more potential for narrowing the problem space and not just because it is trendy or to prove that it is possible. I think the vehicle have redundant systems, too, in critical areas. Or am I making that up? NASA always put redundant systems in its spacecraft. I presume SpaceX does too.
