I use the major system to for phone numbers and PINs. I'm familiar with the memory palace but never had the discipline -- or, I guess a real need -- to actually use it. Good for you! Exercising the mind is always good, even if it is just to memorize digits of pi. (I know 8 digits, and I'm proud of that!)
