I WAS WRONG
The United States of America is a racist hellhole
I was wrong. I was wrong. I was egregiously wrong. Never in my life have I been so wrong. I fully believed Kamala Harris would win the presidency.
I could not imagine that white women would care so little about their own bodily autonomy — and that of their daughters, granddaughters, sisters, nieces, and neighbors — that they wouldn’t get off their duffs and vote for the woman who would defend their rights.
I could not imagine that white me n— and even more surprisingly, Hispanic people — think that they would prefer to live in a white supremacist Fascist state rather then a pluralistic democracy.
I could not imagine that, being offered the choice of the worst man in the country and a brilliant, strong, joyful woman, American voters would choose the turd — uh, man.
I should not be surprised. I have been preaching that civilization is collapsing due to ecological overshoot and climate change. I fully believed that our lives would be unrecognizable by 2030. Now I’m not so sure. Collapse has reached a chaotic stage. Down is up. The sky is green and the grass is blue. Dogs are sleeping with cats.
Expect the unexpected.
Expect the unimaginable.
Trump was reelected.
