IMHO, if air conditioning is a necessity of life, it is time to throw in the towel. Admittedly, I am speaking as someone fortunate enough to live in a mild clime, near an ocean but high enough to not worry about sea level rise. Were Las Vegas and Phoenix ever really a good idea? Not to mention L.A., if we want to get into the fresh water issue. (By the way, I was looking at some climate models and it seems that sea level rise is not much of a threat to the West coast of the United States.)
