In 2018, TNT made a TV series of The Alienist books and it is quite good. You can catch the two 10-episode seasons on Max/HBO. Daniel Brühl (Helmut Zemo in the MCU) is excellent as the alienist (psychiatrist) Laszlo Kreizler. Dakota Fanning has a very strong supporting role.
