Isn't this the same a Japan's "capsule hotels"? However, in Japan they are meant for the occasional use by a young worker who has partied late and wants to catch a few Z's before work the next morning, without commuting back to his home outside the city. (At least that's what I heard.) Certainly not as a primary residence.
