It does feel like humanoid AI robotics is ready for its out-of-the-lab, into-the-real-world moment. But are there applications to drive mass production? AI chatbots exploded because everyone could easily use them and the price-point was incredible, that being free. Humanoid robots won't be consumer items for years to come because the price point is high and the utility is low. Maybe the public will first begin encountering humanoid robots in retail sales and hospitality situations. But most commercial and industrial applications are probably better served by specialized, non-humanoid robots. We'll see how soon Musk gets to an all robot Tesla factory.
