Oh please do not blame the music in the sixties and seventies. The music then was catalyzing for the revolution. The hippie generation (I was just a little too young to participate) did manage to bring the 'Nam war to an end, defeat the reckless nuclear power industry., and start the environmental conservation movement. But the wealth and inertia of the status quo is powerful. It seems to have coopted many out of the movement and into capitalism in the eighties and nineties.
