One time many, many moons ago, I was visiting Arizona for the first time. I had some time on my hands so I took the rental car, AC blasting (as well as the radio), out for a drive in the desert. Way out in the middle of nothing, I suddenly found myself driving down suburban avenues with identical small ranch-style houses with neatly trimmed lawns and sprinklers hissing. What just happened? The Twilight Zone? No, it was my introduction to Sun City. It seemed very strange. I feel bad for those 40,000 old folks when the power outages and water shortages start happening.
