So the current Canadian wildfires aren't an anomaly. They are the new normal until all those boreal forests are cinders. I was gloating that the US East Coast was getting the smoke and we were enjoying clear days on the West Coast. But then I saw a graphic that show the fires are actually closer to the Canadian West Coast and just being driven east by winds. I assume at some point the winds will shift and the smoke will come our way. Even if it doesn't, we'll be generating our own smoke here pretty soon, most certainly. I can only cross my fingers and hope it isn't my home going up in smoke any time soon.
