That’s “magical thinking,” isn’t it? I’m generally a big fan of science. I’ve spent a long career as an engineer, a profession that owes a lot to science and those breakthroughs you are talking about. It’s only that climate change is a three-alarm fire crisis that I feel we should drop everything and put all hands to the pump. Nobody will be doing much science in 30 years if we don’t solve it.
