"the level of resource you describe will not pay for long term care." That's the key right there, isn't it? To my understanding, the question is the quality of the old folk's home you wind up in. If you have no assets, you sign over your social security check and Medicaid picks up the difference. But you wind up with bottom-of-the-barrel care. Anybody know if I have that about right?
