The problem with climate change Pollyannas is that they vastly underestimate the magnitude and velocity of the crisis, they focus too much energy on non-solutions like eating less meat and taking public transport, and they fail to address the underlying causes of the crisis which are end-stage capitalism, ecological resource overshoot, overpopulation, and a culture that still thinks it can dominate nature with technology and that humanity stands outside of nature.
