The Touch Bar failed because people do not like change. I think the mistake was hyping it as such a revolutionary feature. They should have just let it slip in and people would have gone, "Oh, that's interesting. Hey, it's kind of useful." I'm a pro software developer and I loathe function keys and keyboard shortcuts (except for good old copy/cut/paste). 1980 called, it wants its function keys and keyboard shortcuts back.
