This is so wrong, Michael. Let me pick at one of your axioms: "people have unlimited wants ... most people never seem happy with what they have and want more". BS! People have unlimited wants because advertising is shoved in our faces 24/7 stoking those so-called wants and needs. Actually, most people are quite content with very little. For example, when America had manufacturing, most factory workers were perfectly content with a house in the suburbs, a nuclear family, and a brew at the pub after work. No designer labels needed or wanted.
