When my mother was starting to get old, she had a terrible bout of shingles. Some Christian church ladies helped here through it, god bless 'em, and my mom became converted (after being a life-long Catholic). About 15 years later she got cancer and died. She was the saintliest person I know, but she was terrified on her death bed. I asked her why, and she said she was afraid she was going to hell. I have no use for an afterlife that can put that kind of fear into such a good, sweet woman on her death bed.
