I have this story. When I was in high school, underage of course, somehow my buddy got us smuggled into The Whiskey on Sunset strip for a show by one of our favorites, Al Cooper. There was an opening act, a southern rock band Cooper scouted performing as Frankie and Johnny. My story has always been that it was actually the Lynyrd Skynyrd band, which Cooper did, in fact, produce. But research says, my story is bullshit, LS never performed as Frankie and Johnny. So I don't what, if any parts of the story are true.

I did, however, definitely see Blue Oyster Cult perform in a high school gym in Modesto in 1985. Apparently one of the guys went to school there. I also saw the real Elvis Presley in Las Vegas -- I actually just got a glance at him through a cracked door into a casino showroom. He was Fat Elvis in the white jumpsuit.
